Regular Season Round 7: Odra Brzeg - Inea AZS 68-50

Odra Brzeg's fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after six consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat Inea AZS (0-7) 68-50. It looked good early as Inea AZS took an 5-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Odra Brzeg had a 24-7 second period charge getting the lead and Inea AZS was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 50-68. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Inea AZS to just 7 points in second quarter. Odra Brzeg made 16-of-20 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Inea AZS turnovers. It was a great evening for American center Ebony Ellis (190-88, college: N.Illinois) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds. Ukrainian guard Inna Kochubei (174-82) helped adding 16 points and 5 assists. At the losing side forward Aneta Kotnis (186-89) responded with 14 points and 8 rebounds and center Joanna Kedzia (193-87) scored 8 points and 6 rebounds. Odra Brzeg (1-6) left bottom position moving up to twelfth place, which they share with MUKS Poznan. It was Inea AZS's seventh loss in a row. They still closes the standings with seven games lost. Odra Brzeg will play against league's second-placed Wisla Can-Pak in Krakow in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Inea AZS will play at home against Tecza Leszno (#11) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
