Important game to mention about took place in Stadrbredimus. Third ranked Musel Pikes (6-1) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 4th placed AB Contern (4-3) 49-46 on Saturday evening. AB Contern cut a 15-point halftime deficit to three at the end of the game. Musel Pikes dominated on the defensive end, holding AB Contern to just 4 points in first quarter. It was an exceptional evening for Carine Cigrang (175-85) who led the winners and scored 18 points and 7 rebounds. International guard Cathy Schmit (170-90) accounted for 10 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side. American power forward Amanda Stowe (186-79, college: Wisc.-Green Bay) came up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 17 rebounds and German swingman Eva Schonecker (181-81) added 11 points and 8 rebounds respectively for AB Contern in the defeat. Defending champion moved-up to second place. AB Contern at the other side keeps the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with Residence and T71 Dudelange. Musel Pikes will play against Etzella (#3) in Ettelbruck in the next round, which may be the game of the day. AB Contern will play at home against Telstar in Hesperange and hopes to get back on the winning track.
