Regular Season Round 7: Brest - Sorgues 75-81

Very predictable result when eighth ranked Sorgues (5-2) defeated on the road 14th ranked Etendard de Brest (2-5) 81-75 on Saturday. Etendard de Brest was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. It was a great evening for naturalized Moroccan guard Yassine Bassine (198-84) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Serbian forward Slobodan Ocokoljic (204-80, college: Weber St.) helped adding 13 points and 10 rebounds. At the losing side Lithuanian forward Vaidotas Pridotkas (200-84) responded with 16 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!) and guard Johan Rathieuville (177-85) scored 9 points and 10 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Sorgues. They moved-up to second place, which they share with 6 other teams. Loser Etendard de Brest keeps the fourteenth position with five games lost. Sorgues will face league's leader Souffelweyersheim in Souffel. in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Etendard de Brest will play against Chartres (#10).
