Regular Season Round 11: JX Sunflowers - Fujitsu RW 68-67

The most exciting game of round 11 in the WJBL took place in Kashiwa. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 4th placed Fujitsu RW (7-4) to first ranked JX Sunflowers (9-2) 68-67 on Saturday evening. The hosts trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 68-67. It was a great evening for power forward Lynn Kibayashi (184-89) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds. Guard Oh Okami (170-82) helped adding 12 points and 8 rebounds. International power forward Ayumi Suzuki (179-85) responded with 16 points and 7 rebounds and international forward Yoko Nagi (175-82) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. JX Sunflowers have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 9-2 record, which they share with Toyota A. Fujitsu RW at the other side keeps the fourth position with four games lost. JX Sunflowers is again looking forward to face Fujitsu RW (#4) in Kawasaki in the next round. Fujitsu RW will have a break next round.
