Leading Handlopex AZS (4-2) recorded its second loss in Rzeszow. Hosts were defeated by fourth ranked UMKS Kielce (5-2) 72-65. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Handlopex AZS. It was a key game for the second position in Group C. It looked good early as Handlopex AZS took an 3-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then UMKS Kielce had a 24-12 second period charge getting the lead and Handlopex AZS was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 65-72. UMKS Kielce made 20-of-25 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for forward Lukasz Fafara (194-84) who led the winners and scored 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. D.Wyka accounted for 13 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Power forward Piotr Mis (204-77) came up with 18 points and 9 rebounds and center Zbigniew Dolinski (211-81) added 2 points and 19 rebounds respectively for Handlopex AZS in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. UMKS Kielce have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place in Group C. Handlopex AZS at the other side dropped to the third position with two games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. UMKS Kielce will play against Tur Bielsk Pdl. (#3) in Bielsk Podlaski in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Handlopex AZS will play on the road against UKS Siemaszka in Piekary and hopes to get back on the winning track.
