An interesting game was played in Nagano where Sendai 89ers (#3) beat host Shinshu BW (#4) with 16-point difference 88-72 on Sunday evening. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Sendai 89ers's pressure prevailed and they won that period 23-14 extending their advantage to 16 points. The game was also dominated by American players. Forward Daniel Fitzgerald (206-84, college: Marquette) stepped up and scored 30 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and forward Oneal Mims (208-83, college: Angelo St.) chipped in 26 points and 9 rebounds. The best for the losing side was forward Tyler Hughes (213-84, college: Kansas St.) with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and guard Derek Raivio (190-84, college: Gonzaga, agency: Priority Sports) scored 17 points. Four Shinshu BW players scored in double figures. Sendai 89ers maintains third place with 5-3 record having just two points less than leader Akita NH, which they share with Shimane SM.
