The game had a very big importance for fifth-ranked Ourense as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Ourense defeated 8th ranked Tenerife at home 68-57. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 68-57. Ourense dominated on the defensive end, holding Tenerife to just 7 points in second quarter. French-Ivorian forward Francis Koffi (202-81, college: Fresno St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 12 points and 7 rebounds. American forward Matthew Webster (203-84, college: Evansville) contributed with 8 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Ourense's coach Ruben Dominguez used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
