Premier League top team - Maccabi T-A (4-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed fifth ranked Maccabi Ashdod (1-2) 103-74. The game without a history. Maccabi T-A led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Maccabi T-A outrebounded Maccabi Ashdod 40-24 including a 28-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. The winners were led by international power forward Lior Eliyahu (206-85, agency: Z.A.G. - Law Offices) who scored that evening 22 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) and the former international swingman Tal Burstein (198-80, agency: Z.A.G. - Law Offices) supported him with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Five Maccabi T-A players scored in double figures. Even 18 points and 4 steals by American guard Ramel Bradley (188-85) did not help to save the game for Maccabi Ashdod. The former international point guard Meir Tapiro (192-75, agency: Avi Zilberman) added 12 points for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Maccabi T-A have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 4-0 record. Maccabi Ashdod at the other side dropped to the eighth place with two games lost. Maccabi T-A will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Maccabi Ashdod will play on the road against Hapoel J-M (#6) in Jerusalem and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
