An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Cork. First ranked UCC Demons faced 3rd placed UL Eagles. Host UCC Demons (4-2) defeated guests from Limerick (4-4) 75-70. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Shawn Atupem (200-89, college: Mt.St.Mary's) who led the winners and scored 22 points and 7 rebounds. The former international forward Niall O'Reilly (196-80) accounted for 15 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. Four UCC Demons players scored in double figures. The former international center Jason Killeen (211-85, college: Augusta St., agency: JEMsports) came up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 17 rebounds and American forward Johnnie Jefferson (193, college: New England U.) added 16 points and 6 rebounds respectively for UL Eagles in the defeat. UCC Demons have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 4-2 record. UL Eagles at the other side keep the third position with four games lost. UCC Demons' next round opponent will be league's leader DCU Saints in Dublin and it will be for sure the game of the week. UL Eagles will play at home against the league's second-placed 11890 Killester in Dublin and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
