The game between closely ranked teams ended with bottom-ranked S.Antimo's (0-5) road loss to fourteenth ranked Tezenis Verona (2-4) 66-85 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Tezenis Verona. S.Antimo was better in fourth quarter 24-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for American forward Shane Edwards (201-87, college: UALR) who led his team to a victory with 24 points and 9 rebounds. Naturalized Argentinian guard Antonio Porta (188-83, agency: Players Group) contributed with 15 points and 7 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) for the winners. Five Tezenis Verona players scored in double figures. British forward Nicholas George (198-82, college: VCU) replied with 19 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and American guard David Teague (196-83, college: Purdue) added 16 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for S.Antimo. Tezenis Verona moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Aget Imola and Prima Veroli. Newly promoted S.Antimo still closes the standings with five games lost. Tezenis Verona will face higher ranked Sigma Barcellona (#8) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. S.Antimo will play against Enel Brindisi (#4) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
