Very important is a road loss of third ranked Mazzeo San Severo (3-5) against sixth ranked Firenze (3-5) on Sunday night. Visiting Mazzeo San Severo was defeated by Firenze in a tough game in Firenze 67-72. Mazzeo San Severo was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. They outrebounded Mazzeo San Severo 32-17 including 23 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by the former international guard Stefano Rabaglietti (190-83) who scored that evening 20 points and 5 assists and swingman Alessandro Amici (200-91) supported him with 18 points and 7 rebounds. Four Firenze players scored in double figures. Even 19 points and 4 steals by swingman Giovanni Rugolo (196-81) did not help to save the game for Mazzeo San Severo. Center Fulvio Candido (208-83) added 14 points for the guests. Firenze moved-up to third place, which they share with 8 other teams including defeated Mazzeo San Severo. Firenze will meet league's second-placed Trieste on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
