Very important is a road loss of second ranked Etzella (5-2) against fourth ranked Basket Esch (5-2) on Sunday night. Visiting Etzella was crushed by Basket Esch in Esch 88-63. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Etzella. The game without a history. Basket Esch led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Etzella's 32. They outrebounded Etzella 38-24 including 26 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for international forward Martin Rajniak (204-78, college: CSU Bakersfield) who led his team to a victory scoring 27 points and 4 assists. Slovakian power forward Stefan Svitek (203-77) helped adding 21 points and 11 rebounds. Four Basket Esch players scored in double figures. At the losing side Nigerian forward Corey Raji (198-88, college: Boston Coll., agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) responded with 20 points and 5 rebounds and Gilles Polfer (189-93) scored 15 points. Basket Esch moved-up to second place, which they share with Sparta and Etzella. Basket Esch will meet Sparta (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Etzella will play against Musel Pikes in Stadrbredimus and hope to secure a win.
