Important game to mention about took place in Mexicali. Fourth ranked Huracanes (15-8) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 5th ranked Soles (14-10) 67-64 in the fight for the fourth place. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Soles. Soles cut a 13-point halftime deficit to three at the end of the game. Huracanes brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. The winners were led by Venezuelan forward Nestor Colmenares (203-87, college: Campbellsville) who scored that evening 11 points and 7 rebounds and American power forward Robert Hornsby (196-82, college: Troy) supported him with 13 points and 4 assists. Even a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds by Venezuelan swingman Jose Vargas (196-82) did not help to save the game for Soles. Venezuelan point guard David Cubillan (183-87, college: Marquette) added 18 points and 5 assists. Huracanes have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 15-8 record. Soles at the other side keep the fifth place with ten games lost. Huracanes will play against league's second-placed Halcones Rojos in Veracruz in the next round and it may be the game of the week.
