An interesting game for Esperides (6-0) which hosted in Glyfada 3rd ranked Asteras (4-2). Top-ranked Esperides managed to get a 13-point victory 65-52. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Asteras. The game without a history. Esperides led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Asteras to just 7 points in first quarter. Esperides forced 19 Asteras turnovers. It was a good game for American center Latoya Williams (193-87, college: Chipola JC) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 15 rebounds. The former international guard Theoni Tzegianaki (162-85) contributed with 17 points and 6 assists for the winners. Four Esperides players scored in double figures. Latvian center Zenta Melnika (197-91) replied with 20 points and 9 rebounds and swingman Vassiliki Daskalopoulou (178-84) added 13 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Asteras. Esperides have an impressive six-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Athinaikos. Newly promoted Asteras dropped to the fourth place with two games lost. Esperides is looking forward to face Panathinaikos (#3) in Athens in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Asteras will play at home against DAS Ano Liosa and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
