Regular Season Round 5: Benetton TV - Cantu 72-55

We should mention about the upset which took place in Treviso, where 4th placed Bennet Cantu (3-2) lost to twelfth ranked Benetton Treviso (2-2) in a road game 55-72. The game without a history. Benetton Treviso led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Bennet Cantu to just 6 points in second quarter. Benetton Treviso dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Bennet Cantu's 22. American power forward Jeff Adrien (202-86, college: Connecticut, agency: Priority Sports) nailed 18 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and naturalized American center Brian Scalabrine (206-78, college: USC) accounted for 6 points and 15 rebounds. American forward Maarten Leunen (206-85, college: Oregon) came up with 7 points and 8 rebounds and international point guard Andrea Cinciarini (193-86) added 9 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Bennet Cantu in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Benetton Treviso moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Scavolini PS and Umana Venezia. Bennet Cantu at the other side dropped to the sixth position with two games lost. Benetton Treviso's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Novipiu CM (#17) in Casale and are hoping to win another game.
