Regular Season Round 9: Takamatsu FA - Miyazaki SS 77-100

The game between closely ranked teams ended with bottom-ranked Takamatsu FA's (0-8) home loss to eighth ranked Miyazaki Shining Suns (2-6) 77-100 on Sunday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Miyazaki Shining Suns made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American power forward Lewis Witcher (207-87, college: Virginia Tech) who scored 22 points and 9 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). His fellow American import center Darryl Dora (206-85, college: Texas Tech) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Miyazaki Shining Suns' coach felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was STVn center Nyika Williams (203-87, college: Pacific) who recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and American forward Michael Nunnally (203-86, college: Pacific) added 10 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Miyazaki Shining Suns maintains eighth place with 2-6 record. Loser Takamatsu FA still closes the standings with eight games lost. Miyazaki Shining Suns will have a break next round. Takamatsu FA will play on the road against Fukuoka Rizing (#5) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
