Regular Season Round 11: Levice - Prievidza 75-74

There was a change at the Extraliga leadership position after last games. Round 11 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Prievidza (7-3). They were edged by seventh ranked Levice (5-5) 75-74 on Wednesday night. The hosts trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 25-14 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Levice forced 21 Prievidza turnovers and outrebounded them 45-31 including 17 on the offensive glass. It was a great evening for American guard Keaton Grant (193-86, college: Purdue) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points and 7 rebounds. British center Michael Bernard (205-78, college: S.Florida) helped adding 17 points and 11 rebounds. Levice's coach Frantisek Ron used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American guard David Godbold (196-85, college: Oklahoma, agency: Scorers 1st Sportmanagement) responded with 25 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import guard Corey Pelle (180-89, college: W.Liberty St.) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Levice moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Svit. Prievidza at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. They were joined at the leadership position by Nitra who have the same record. Prievidza will play next round against strong Nova Ves trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Levice will try to continue on its current victory against first ranked Nitra in Nitra.
