Regular Season Round 3: Lethbridge - UBC Okanagan 88-61

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Pronghorn (3-1) crushed bottom-ranked Heat (0-2) in Lethbridge, AB 88-61 on Friday. Pronghorn shot 26 for 42 from the free-throw line, while Heat only scored eight points from the stripe. Pronghorn forced 20 Heat turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Heat was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for Daryl Cooper who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists. Forward Dominyc Coward (198) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Four Pronghorn players scored in double figures. Pronghorn's coach Dave Adams felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Yassine Ghomari answered with 22 points and Bret Macdonald added 2 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Heat. Pronghorn have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Alberta and UFV. Loser Heat still closes the standings with two games lost. Pronghorn will face Wolfpack (#6) in Kamloops, BC in the next round. Heat will play on the road against Dinos in Calgary, AB and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
