CIS top team - Vikies (4-0) had no problems winning another game on Friday. This time they crushed fourteenth ranked Cougars (0-3) in Victoria, BC 85-66. They outrebounded Cougars 38-19 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for guard Ryan Mackinnon (193-89) who led his team to a victory with 26 points and 5 assists. Guard Zac Andrus (180) contributed with 11 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Four Vikies players scored in double figures. Forward Paul Gareau (201) answered with 23 points and 5 rebounds and guard Sterling Nostedt (185) added 15 points in the effort for Cougars. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Vikies have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 4-0 record. Loser Cougars still closes the standings with three games lost. Vikies will face Bobcats (#10) in Brandon, MB in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Cougars will play on the road against Thunderbirds (#5) in Vancouver, BC and look forward to get finally their first victory.
