Not a big story in a game when 10th ranked Bisons (1-3) were outscored by fifth ranked Cascades (3-1) in Winnipeg, MB 101-76 on Friday. Cascades outrebounded Bisons 55-27 including a 16-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. Cascades looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a good game for Jordan Blackman who led his team to a victory with 24 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Forward Jasper Moedt (203) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Four Cascades players scored in double figures. Guard Kevin Oliver (198) answered with 10 points and 6 rebounds and American guard Stephan Walton (175-87, college: Valdosta St.) added 8 points and 6 assists in the effort for Bisons. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Cascades moved-up to second place, which they share with Lethbridge and Alberta. Loser Bisons dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Cascades will face Wesmen (#12) in Winnipeg, MB in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Bisons will play on the road against Spartans (#7) in Langley, BC and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
