Very expected game when 8th ranked San Martin Corrientes (4-9) was crushed on the road by third ranked Libertad Sunchales (8-5) 87-62 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Libertad Sunchales. San Martin Corrientes was better in second period 22-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American center Robert Battle (204-81, college: Drexel, agency: Dream Team Management) stepped up and scored 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and Jamaican-Canadian forward Jermaine Bucknor (199-83, college: Richmond) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds. Five Libertad Sunchales players scored in double figures. At the losing side American power forward Hakeem Rollins (202-83, college: Washington, agency: Dream Team Management) responded with 15 points and 4 blocks (made all of his seven free throws) and guard Agustin Carabajal (179-78) scored 9 points and 5 rebounds. San Martin Corrientes' coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the third consecutive win for Libertad Sunchales. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Quimsa. Newly promoted San Martin Corrientes dropped to the seventh position with nine games lost. Libertad Sunchales will face Sionista (#4) in Parana in the next round. San Martin Corrientes will play on the road against Quimsa in Santiado Estero.
