Everything went according to plan when leader Thunderwolves (1-0) outplayed bottom-ranked Golden Gaels (0-2) in Kingston, ON 84-52 on Friday. Thunderwolves made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 27 Golden Gaels turnovers. It was a good game for Ben Johnson (-88) who led his team to a victory with 22 points and 6 rebounds. American guard Venzal Russel (188-87, college: Vermilion CC) contributed with 17 points and 5 assists for the winners. Four Thunderwolves players scored in double figures. Mackenzie Simpson answered with 10 points and 6 rebounds and guard Ryan Golden (183) added 12 points in the effort for Golden Gaels. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Thunderwolves keep a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Golden Gaels still closes the standings with two games lost.
