Regular Season Round 7: Nantes - Quimper 62-75

There was an upset when higher ranked Nantes (3-4) was defeated at home by seventeenth ranked Quimper UJAP (2-5) 75-62 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Quimper UJAP. Nantes was better in third quarter 14-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Quimper UJAP forced 20 Nantes turnovers and outrebounded them 36-22 including 26 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Quimper UJAP especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. Liberian-American Pele Paelay (193-84, college: Co.Carolina) fired 16 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Florian Thibedore (193-90) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. Paelay is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Naturalized American guard David Fergerson (185-78, college: St.Louis) produced 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and naturalized Swiss power forward David Ramseyer (200-87) added 15 points respectively for lost side. Nantes' coach Guillaume Quintard tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Quimper UJAP moved-up to sixteenth place, which they share with Antibes. Loser Nantes dropped to the ninth position with four games lost. Quimper UJAP will face JA Vichy (#18) at home in the next round.
