There was a minor upset when 6th ranked Wisla AWF Kr. (4-3) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Unia Tarnow (4-3) 79-62 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 79-62. Unia Tarnow forced 22 Wisla AWF Kr. turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Unia Tarnow made 15 blocks. The best player for the winners was forward Przemyslaw Cygan (198-82) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds. Guard Tomasz Zych (188-87) chipped in 19 points and 7 assists. Unia Tarnow will face higher ranked Handlopex AZS (#3) in Rzeszow in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Wisla AWF Kr. will play at home against Novum Lublin.
