The game in Tbilisi was also quite interesting. Third ranked Kutaisi (4-1) played at the court of 6th ranked Olympus (2-2). Kutaisi defeated Olympus 75-64 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Olympus. Olympus were tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Kutaisi dominated on the defensive end, holding Olympus to just 7 points in third quarter. They also forced 23 Olympus turnovers. Guard Levan Tsekvava (190-89) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 4 assists. Forward Rezo Didia (203-87) contributed with 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. The former international forward Mikheil Berishvili (205-87) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and Croatian guard Nikica Sljuka (187-87) added 17 points and 4 assists in the effort for Olympus. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Kutaisi moved-up to second place, which they share with Sokhumi. Newly promoted Olympus keep the sixth position with two games lost. Kutaisi will face MIA (#8) in Tbilisi in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Olympus' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tbilisi STU.
