Regular Season Round 6: Mitsubishi DD - Aishin SH 66-72

An interesting game for Aishin Sea Horses (10-2) which played road game in Nagoya against 4th ranked Mitsubishi Dolphins (5-7). Second ranked Aishin Sea Horses managed to get a 6-point victory 72-66. It looked good early as Mitsubishi Dolphins took an 8-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Aishin Sea Horses took control getting tie in the second period and winning the second half and eventually winning the game that evening by 6 points. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward J.R. Sakuragi (206-76, college: UCLA) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists. Jamaican center Kevin Young (206-84, college: Missouri) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. Four Aishin Sea Horses players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Ron Hale (203-77, college: Florida St.) who recorded 16 points and 7 rebounds and the former international guard Kei Igarashi (180-80) added 15 points and 4 assists respectively. Mitsubishi Dolphins' coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Aishin Sea Horses have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Toyota Alvark. Mitsubishi Dolphins at the other side keep the fourth place with seven games lost. Aishin Sea Horses' next round opponent will be league's second-placed Toyota Alvark in Fuchu and it will be for sure the game of the week. Mitsubishi Dolphins will play on the road against Hitachi Sunrockers in Osaka and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
