Regular Season Round 6: Panasonic T. - Tochigi Brex 86-74

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 6th ranked Tochigi Brex (4-8) lost to seventh ranked Panasonic Trians (4-8) in Osaka 74-86 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Panasonic Trians. Tochigi Brex was better in third quarter 27-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tochigi Brex was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American forward Charles O'Bannon (198-75, college: UCLA) who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 8 rebounds. International swingman Kosuke Kanamaru (193-89) contributed with 21 points for the winners. Four Panasonic Trians players scored in double figures. International guard Takuya Kawamura (193-86) replied with 33 points (!!!), 7 assists and 6 steals and American forward Ivan McFarlin (203-82, college: Oklahoma St.) added 14 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Tochigi Brex. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Panasonic Trians moved-up to sixth place, which they share with defeated Tochigi Brex. Panasonic Trians will face higher ranked Hokkaido L. (#5) in Saporro in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
