Rather predictable result when top-ranked Panthers (2-0) edged 6th ranked Huskies (1-3) in Charlottetown, PEI 97-95 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 32-24 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Panthers forced 20 Huskies turnovers and outrebounded them 36-24 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for forward Jermaine Duke (198) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Jonathan Cooper (183-88) contributed with 19 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Forward Tory Fassett replied with 26 points and guard Miguel Pink (185) added 22 points in the effort for Huskies. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Panthers keep a position of league leader, which they share with 8 other teams. Huskies lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth place with three games lost. Panthers will have a break next round. Huskies will play at home against the league's leader Varsity Reds (#1) in Fredericton, NB.
