There was a surprise result when tenth ranked Scavolini Pesaro (3-2) won against on the road higher ranked Pepsi Caserta (3-2) 82-76. It looked good early as Pepsi Caserta took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Scavolini Pesaro had a 20-16 second period charge getting the lead and Pepsi Caserta was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 76-82. Strangely Pepsi Caserta outrebounded Scavolini Pesaro 43-31 including a 19-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. 26 personal fouls committed by Pepsi Caserta helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Daniel Hackett (197-87, college: USC) who scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. American point guard Ricky Hickman (190-85, college: NC-Greensboro) chipped in 15 points. Four Scavolini Pesaro players scored in double figures.
