Everything could happen in Langley, BC at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked Spartans and 10th ranked Bisons had identical 1-2 record. This time Spartans used a home court advantage and rolled over the opponent from Winnipeg, MB 95-68 on Saturday night. The game without a history. Spartans led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Bisons' 38. Spartans forced 19 Bisons turnovers. It was a very good performance for American forward Kyle Coston (203-87, college: Portland St.) who helped to win the game recording 25 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Calvin Westbrook (193-88, college: Cal.St.-Stanislaus) contributed with 18 points for the winners. American guard Stephan Walton (175-87, college: Valdosta St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and forward Braedon Speer (196) added 18 points (perfect from the field making all six shots) in the effort for Bisons. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Spartans (2-2) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Calgary and TRU. Loser Bisons dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Spartans will face higher ranked Thunderbirds (#5) in Vancouver, BC in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Bisons will play on the road against Bobcats in Brandon, MB.
