Regular Season Round 8: Znicz Basket - Sudety 79-74

There was no surprise in Pruszkow where 11th ranked Sudety (2-6) was defeated by fifth ranked MKS Znicz Basket (5-2) 79-74 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. MKS Znicz Basket outrebounded Sudety 39-25 including 28 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was guard Dominik Czubek (178-75) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 5 rebounds, 11 assists and 4 steals. Forward Grzegorz Malewski (200-84) chipped in 20 points and 7 rebounds. MKS Znicz Basket's coach Michal Spychala used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Forward Jaroslaw Wilusz (200-85) produced 19 points and 9 rebounds and guard Lukasz Niesobski (185-85) added 16 points and 5 blocks respectively for the guests. Five MKS Znicz Basket and four Sudety players scored in double figures. MKS Znicz Basket have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Spojnia. Newly promoted Sudety dropped to the thirteenth position with six games lost. MKS Znicz Basket will face SKK Siedlce (#9) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Sudety will play against the league's second-placed P.Cukier SIDEn (#2) in Torun.
