The most shocking disappointment of round 8 in the LFB was a road defeat of higher ranked Bourges (5-3) to eighth ranked Union Hainaut (4-4) 53-48. It ended the two-game winning streak of Bourges. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 14-6 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Union Hainaut dominated on the defensive end, holding Bourges to just 6 points in third quarter. Worth to mention a great performance of American Amisha Carter (186-82, college: Louisiana Tech, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and Croatian center Petra Stampalija (189-80, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who added 15 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. American guard Catherine Joens (180-82) responded with 18 points and 5 steals and international forward Nwal-Endene Miyem (188-88) scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. Bourges' coach Valerie Garnier rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Union Hainaut have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Arras. Defending champion Bourges keeps the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with Mondeville and Tarbes. Union Hainaut is looking forward to face Aix-en-Provence (#11) in Les Milles in the next round. Bourges will play at home against Aix-en-Provence (#11) in Les Milles and is hoping to win this game.
