Everything went according to plan when seventh ranked Arras (4-4) beat on the road 13th ranked Lyon (1-7) 64-60 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Lyon won fourth quarter 15-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was DR Congolese power forward Pauline Akonga Nsimbo (188-82, agency: LBM Management) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds. Romanian forward Gabriela Marginean (182-87, college: Drexel) chipped in 22 points and 6 rebounds. Naturalized Senegalese forward Mame-Marie Sy-Diop (185-85) produced 21 points and 5 rebounds and forward Leslie Ardon (181-79) added 7 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Arras maintains seventh position with 4-4 record, which they share with Union Hainaut. Lyon lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the thirteenth place with seven games lost. Arras will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Lyon will play against Mondeville (#5).
