Regular Season Round 13: Fujitsu RW - Toyota A. 75-76

The most exciting game of round 13 in the WJBL took place in Kawasaki. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 4th placed Fujitsu RW (7-6) to second ranked Toyota A. (11-2) 76-75 on Saturday evening. Fujitsu RW was trailing by 8 points at halftime but managed to get 7-point lead after three quarters before a 21-13 charge of Toyota A., which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of international guard Emi Kudeken (165-84) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 6 rebounds. The former international forward Ryoko Yano (178-78) contributed with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Toyota A. players scored in double figures. Swingman Tika Yamamoto (175-91) answered with 30 points and 7 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) and power forward Megumi Shinohara (184-91) added 24 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Fujitsu RW. Fujitsu RW's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Toyota A. have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with JX Sunflowers. Fujitsu RW lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with six games lost. Toyota A. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Fujitsu RW will play again on the road against the league's second-placed Toyota A. (#2) in Nagoya and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
