Regular Season Round 26: Pioneros - Soles 99-93 OT

Pioneros (14-8) survived in overtime against Soles (15-11) by six points 99-93 on Saturday night. Soles were trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 9-point lead after three quarters before a 21-12 charge of Pioneros, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 12-6. Soles were plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was guard LeRoy Hickerson (196-82, college: Cumberlands) who scored 31 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward John Millsap (198-82, college: UTSA) chipped in 20 points and 9 rebounds. Millsap is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Forward Carl Edwards (196-81, college: Charleston) produced 27 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and power forward Darren Fells (201-86, college: Cal-Irvine) added 18 points and 11 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four Soles players scored in double figures. Pioneros have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain seventh position with 14-8 record. Soles at the other side keep the sixth place with 11 games lost. Pioneros will face Correcaminos (#11) in Ciudad Victoria in the next round.
