Very important is a road loss of third ranked Meridiano Alicante (5-2) against sixth ranked Caja Laboral (5-2) on Sunday night. Visiting Meridiano Alicante was defeated by Caja Laboral in Vitoria 65-55. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Meridiano Alicante. The game without a history. Caja Laboral led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was an exceptional evening for Bosnian forward Mirza Teletovic (206-85, agency: Beo Basket) who led the winners and scored 22 points. International swingman Fernando San Emeterio (198-84) accounted for 11 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. American forward Kyle Singler (203-88, college: Duke) came up with 15 points and Bulgarian forward Kaloyan Ivanov (205-86) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Meridiano Alicante in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for Caja Laboral. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Unicaja and Lucentum. Caja Laboral will play against Asefa Estudiantes (#11) in Madrid in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Meridiano Alicante will play at home against Unicaja Malaga (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
