Regular Season Round 11: LKS Lodz - Siarka Jezioro 70-94
Date: November 13, 2011
There was no surprise in Lodz where 13th ranked LKS Sphinx (2-8) was crushed by ninth ranked Siarka Jezioro (4-5) 94-70 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Siarka Jezioro. LKS Sphinx was better in fourth quarter 23-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American point guard Josh Miller (169, college: W.Virginia St., agency: Hart Sports Mngm) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 assists. His fellow American import guard LaMarshall Corbett (190-88, college: Angelo St., agency: Hart Sports Mngm) chipped in 24 points (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). Four Siarka Jezioro players scored in double figures. Center Krzysztof Sulima (202-90) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and American center Kirk Archibeque (205-84, college: Fort Lewis, agency: Hart Sports Mngm) added 13 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Siarka Jezioro moved-up to eighth place. LKS Sphinx lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with eight games lost. Siarka Jezioro will face league's second-placed Anwil in Wloclawek in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. LKS Sphinx will play on the road against AZS Politechnika Warszawska (#12) in Warszawa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
