Bottom-ranked Novipiu CM is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their sixth consecutive match to ninth ranked Benetton Treviso (3-2) 72-71 on Sunday evening. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Benetton Treviso made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. American power forward Jeff Adrien (202-86, college: Connecticut, agency: Priority Sports) notched a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds to lead the effort and swingman Alessandro Gentile (197-92) supported him with 19 points. Even 23 points by point guard Stefano Gentile (190-89) did not help to save the game for Novipiu CM. Naturalized American power forward David Chiotti (206-84, college: N.Mexico, agency: Court Side) added 8 points and 13 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Benetton Treviso moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 3 other teams. Newly promoted Novipiu CM still closes the standings with six games lost. Benetton Treviso will meet Scavolini Pesaro (#10) on the road in the next round. Novipiu CM will play against Air Avellino (#6) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
