Regular Season Round 12: Osaka Evessa - Shiga L-Stars 90-73

There was no surprise when 4th ranked Shiga L-Stars (6-4) were defeated on the road by first ranked Osaka Evessa (9-1) 90-73 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Osaka Evessa. Shiga L-Stars was better in second period 24-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Osaka Evessa dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Shiga L-Stars' 38. The best player for the winners was American forward Lynn Washington (200-78, college: Indiana) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Cohey Aoki (167-80) chipped in 16 points and 6 assists. Four Osaka Evessa players scored in double figures. Osaka Evessa's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Yu Okada (184-83) who recorded 28 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and American forward Ray Nixon (203-84, college: Wisconsin) added 15 points and 12 rebounds respectively. Osaka Evessa have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 9-1 record. Shiga L-Stars at the other side dropped to the third place with four games lost. Osaka Evessa will face Oita Heat Devils (#7) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Shiga L-Stars will play against the league's second-placed Okinawa GK (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
