Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked Muggia and 6th ranked Udine had identical 3-3 record. But Udine was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Muggia 55-49 on Sunday night. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 13-10. But Udine won second period 11-9. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Muggia won last quarter 16-12. Udine was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Guard Jessica Cergol (180-85) fired a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Guard Annalisa Borroni (183-83) chipped in 21 points and 5 rebounds. Latvian forward Ieva Veinberga (183-84) produced 12 points and 8 rebounds and forward Patrizia De Gianni (191-88) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Udine's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Muggia (4-3) moved-up to seventh place in North. Loser Udine dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. Muggia will face league's second-placed Vigarano at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Udine will play against Marghera in Venezia.
