No shocking result in a game when third ranked Ragusa (6-1) defeated at home 11th ranked Napoli BK Women (2-5) 71-66 on Sunday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Napoli BK Women won third quarter 18-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ragusa forced 19 Napoli BK Women turnovers. Swingman Valeria Carnemolla (168-82) fired 15 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. The former international power forward Silvia Sarni (188-87) chipped in 19 points and 5 rebounds. Four Ragusa players scored in double figures. Bulgarian power forward Milena Tomova (189-82, college: FIU) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds and guard Nadia Calamai (170-86) added 18 points respectively for lost side. Ragusa keeps a position of South leader, which they share with Chieti and T. La Spezia. Loser Napoli BK Women dropped to the tenth place with five games lost. Ragusa will face Battipaglia (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Napoli BK Women's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Napoli Napoli S.Dike.
