Regular Season Round 7: Helsingborg - Sanda 70-49

There was no surprise when bottom-ranked Sanda Basket (0-4) was outplayed on the road by seventh ranked Helsingborg (2-3) 70-49 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 70-49. Helsingborg made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Helsingborg outrebounded Sanda Basket 45-26 including 31 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for swingman Jonas Christensen (194-78) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Manfred Bernborg (194-91) helped adding 16 points. Helsingborg's coach felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side guard Adrian Thorangen (195-93) responded with 29 points and guard Alexander Russom (191-95) scored 7 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Despite that victory Helsingborg went down to eighth position (South) due to points difference. Sanda Basket lost their fourth game in a row. They still closes the standings with four games lost. Helsingborg will face higher ranked Solna Branten (#7) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sanda Basket will play against Solna Branten and hopes to get finally their first victory.
