Regular Season Round 12: Miyazaki SS - Okinawa GK 58-70

Very expected game when 8th ranked Miyazaki Shining Suns (2-8) were defeated at home by second ranked Okinawa GK (8-2) 70-58 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Okinawa GK. Miyazaki Shining Suns was better in third quarter 23-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Miyazaki Shining Suns 41-28 including 33 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Nigerian-American power forward Reggie Okosa (208-80, college: La Salle, agency: VVG Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Narito Namizato (175-89) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Darryl Dora (206-85, college: Texas Tech) who recorded 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Taishiro Shimizu (183-81) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Okinawa GK have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Akita NH. Miyazaki Shining Suns at the other side keep the eighth place with eight games lost. Okinawa GK will face Shiga L-Stars (#4) at home in the next round. Miyazaki Shining Suns will play against Shinshu BW (#4) in Nagano.
