Regular Season Round 14: Denso Iris - Mitsubishi K. 62-66

The most important game in the last round took place in Kariya between third ranked Denso Iris (10-4) and sixth ranked Mitsubishi K. (5-9) on Sunday night. Denso Iris were defeated by Mitsubishi K. in a tough game at home 62-66. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Denso Iris. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Denso Iris won third quarter 22-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Mitsubishi K. won last quarter 19-17. Center Enjin Wantsu (189-87) had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Mitiko Miyamoto (175-86) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Mitsubishi K.'s coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Forward Tamotsu Huziwara (175-87) responded with 17 points and 6 rebounds and forward Misaki Oonuma (175-90) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Mitsubishi K. maintains sixth position with 5-9 record. Denso Iris at the other side keep the third place with four games lost. Mitsubishi K. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Denso Iris will play at home against Chanson V-M in Shizuoka and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
