Regular Season Round 9: Baerum Basket - Langhus 119-65

The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Baerum Basket as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Baerum Basket smashed bottom-ranked Langhus IL in Bekkestua 119-65. The game without a history. Baerum Basket led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 84 of its points in the paint compared to Langhus IL's 48. Baerum Basket forced 23 Langhus IL turnovers and outrebounded Langhus IL 45-18 including a 22-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Baerum Basket looked well-organized offensively handing out 35 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Langhus IL's players. The best player for the winners was guard Stian Mjos (182-89) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 assists. American power forward Donald Oatis (206-79, college: Wilberforce, agency: Prossin Sports Management) chipped in a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds. Four Baerum Basket players scored in double figures. Baerum Basket's coach Pal Berg felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was guard David Crouch (-86) who recorded 24 points and 6 rebounds and center Gisle Klubnes (202-84) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Baerum Basket (7-1) have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Froya Basket. Newly promoted Langhus IL still closes the standings with ten games lost. Langhus IL will play next round against strong Gimle BBK trying to get back on the winning streak. Baerum Basket will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
