Extraliga round 13 most important game was a victory of Handlova over 7th ranked Levice 97-85 on Wednesday night. The guests trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 27-13 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Handlova made 27-of-28 free shots (96.4 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Anthony Jones (194-84, college: Indiana Tech) who helped to win the game recording 33 points (!!!), 6 assists and 6 steals. His fellow American import forward Sean Hampton (195-75, college: Alders.-Broad.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Croatian guard Sinisa Stemberger (195-79) answered with 22 points and 6 assists and British center Michael Bernard (205-78, college: S.Florida) added 23 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Levice. Levice's coach Frantisek Ron rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Handlova maintains sixth place with 6-6 record. Newly promoted Levice keeps the seventh position with seven games lost. Handlova are looking forward to face higher ranked Nova Ves (#4) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Levice will play against Vahostav-Zilina and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
