Second Stage Round 1: La Union - Quimsa 74-68

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Quimsa (10-6) against fifth ranked La Union (7-9) on Wednesday night. Visiting Quimsa was defeated by La Union in a tough game in Formosa 68-74. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Quimsa. The game without a history. La Union led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Americans were the main players on the court. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Joe Smith (193-77, college: Al.-Huntsville, agency: Priority Sports) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 8 assists. Forward Gregory Lewis (198-78, college: Winthrop, agency: Dream Team Management) contributed with 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Forward Bernard Robinson (198-81, college: Michigan) answered with 18 points and 6 rebounds and power forward James Williams (204-79, college: Brown Mackie, agency: Dream Team Management) added 6 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Quimsa. La Union maintains fifth place with 7-9 record. Quimsa at the other side keeps the third position with six games lost. La Union's next round opponent will be again higher ranked Quimsa (#3) in Santiado Estero and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
