Second defeat of league's leader Start Gdynia (7-2) against third ranked Sokol Lancut (7-1) 78-69 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Start Gdynia. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game without a history. Sokol Lancut led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Sokol Lancut forced 26 Start Gdynia turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Sokol Lancut made 17 blocks. It was a good game for forward Wojciech Pisarczyk (201-88) who led his team to a victory with 14 points and 9 rebounds. Center Maciej Klima (205-82) contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Sokol Lancut players scored in double figures. Power forward Adam Lisewski (206-80) answered with 16 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) and forward Tomasz Wojdyla (201-77) added 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 blocks in the effort for Start Gdynia. Start Gdynia's coach Pawel Turkiewicz rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Sokol Lancut have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with P.Cukier SIDEn. Start Gdynia at the other side dropped to the third place with two games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by P.Cukier SIDEn. Start Gdynia will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest and make it back to the top of the standings. Sokol Lancut will try to continue on its current victory against twelfth ranked Olimp MKS Start Lublin on the road.
