Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both second ranked Sendai 89ers and 4th placed Chiba Jets had identical 7-4 record. But Chiba Jets were not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Sendai 84-70 on Thursday night. The game was mostly controlled by Sendai 89ers. Sendai 89ers' coach Robert Pierce allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Guard Jamel Staten (198-83, college: Minn.St.-Mankato) answered with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds and guard Maurice Hargrow (193-83, college: Minnesota) added 26 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Chiba Jets. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Sendai 89ers. They maintain second place with 8-4 record having just one points less than leader Akita NH. Chiba Jets lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the third position with five games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
