Regular Season Round 5: Ottawa - Windsor 69-65

There was a minor upset in Ottawa, ON where 4th placed Lancers (2-1) were defeated by fourth ranked Gee-Gees (1-2) 69-65 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 4 points. International guard Warren Ward (196-89) stepped up and scored 22 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and Michael L'Africain chipped in 16 points. Gee-Gees' coach James DeRouin used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Guard Enrico Diloreto (186-90) responded with 22 points and guard Rotimi Osuntola (196-92) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. Gee-Gees left bottom position moving up to second place, which they share with 6 other teams. Loser Lancers dropped to the third position with one game lost. Gee-Gees will face Mustangs (#8) in London, ON in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Lancers will play on the road against the league's leader Ravens (#1) in Ottawa, ON and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
